Oftentimes we find ourselves feeling alienated from our environment. We struggle to ground ourselves in areas of our communities that are unfamiliar. With oil paint, I try to meld natural forms into abstract spaces in an attempt to figure out what isolates or makes us one of the pack.

I use found materials in my studio to apply the paint. This is important because I want to try and meld into my studio environment. Whether or not the found objects succeed or hinder the end result is just another environmental struggle.

Animal forms are my main subject matter because of their natural patterns, camouflage, and relationships to the human species.
